"Project Planning and Project Management"; are the two success factors to completing a project on time and within budget. It is vital that, before the project commences, where many individuals are involved, defining and agreeing on the scope of the project and defining the role of the project manager, area of responsibilities and accountability are absolutely vital to the project success. By contracting WESTEK as your project manager, the organization's staff is able to remain focused on their primary roles.

The role of the project manager is to understand the project objectives, milestones, costs, completion timetable, and business risks.  This will include being able to manage variances to the project, in a proactive manner, and to keep the implementation on schedule. The project manager will be the single point of contact, and will have authority, control, and accountability for agreed upon aspects of the project to ensure that the project is successfully completed.

The frequency and methods of communication should be discussed, as should the criteria for successful completion of the project. Regular reporting and reviews will ensure that all interested parties are fully informed of the project's progress. As the criteria for completion of the project are met, the customer signs off on the project. If required, the project manager can recommend any ongoing support requirements for the new infrastructure.
